A mixing drum for the ore ingredients for the feeding to a blast furnace includes a drum body lined with a liner of polyurethane and ceramic blocks incorporated into the polyurethane matrix. The lining system includes lifter bars which are made of a highly wear resistant polyurethane with ceramic blocks inserted towards the leading edge of the lifter bars.
