<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide a flame retardant which has substantially no or sufficiently low hazardousness, which exhibits excellent flame retardancy in appropriate amounts, and which is easily handled, and to provide a flame-retardant resin composition having excellent flame retardancy, physical properties, water resistance and processing stability. This flame retardant contains prescribed amounts of the following components: (A) a reaction product of piperazine and one phosphorus compound selected from phosphoric acid, pyrophosphoric acid, and polyphosphoric acid, (B) a reaction product of melamine and a polyacid selected from cyanuric acid, phosphoric acid, pyrophosphoric acid, and polyphosphoric acid, (C) a reaction product of silicic acid and calcium or magnesium, and at least one of (D) and (E), wherein (D) is a silicone oil and (E) is one selected from a group consisting of hydrocarbon-based lubricants, fatty acid-based lubricants, aliphatic amide-based lubricants and ester-based lubricants. This flame-retardant resin composition contains said flame retardant and a synthetic resin.</p> |
