The device has a ring (1) that is arranged for encasing the device on a neck (14) of a bottle (9) e.g. Loire bottle, and a disk (2) whose color and optional marking are visible at an end of the bottle. A passage is provided with a small internal diameter (5) of the ring arranged behind the collar of the bottle. The color of the disk is utilized for identifying the color i.e. red color, of contents e.g. red wine or sparkling wine, of the bottle. The optional marking is arranged for identification of other characteristics of the contents of the bottle.
