The invention relates to a microbial consortium which, as a bio-inoculant, is used for treating the soils with a relatively high content of oil hydrocarbons and heavy metals in an industrial area, in the conditions in which it contributes to the cultivated plant growth. According to the invention, the consortium consists of Rhodococcus qingshengii strain BBG1 and Pseudomonas fluorescens strain BBN1, deposited at the National Collection of Agricultural and Industrial Microorganisms of Budapest, NCAIM(P) B001401 and NCAIM(P) B001400, respectively, said strains having the capacity of bio-degrading aliphatic hydrocarbons - n-dodecane, mono-aromatic hydrocarbons - benzene, toluene, xylene - and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons - naphtalene, by increased resistence to heavy metals - Zn, Cu, Pb- and by exercising benefic properties on plants growth - producing siderophores, mobilizing inorganic phosphates from insoluble complexes, hydrolyzing carbamide and gelatine, being adequate for biologically improving the soils contaminated with oil hydrocarbons, even in the presence of heavy metals, at the same time contributing to the plant growth. |
