PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify whether there is a failure or not and specify the mode of a failure, if any.SOLUTION: A 0G adjustment section 33 makes an adjustment such that a digital signal output from a digital signal output section 32 when no acceleration is applied changes from a value of all zeros or all ones to a value with a predetermined offset. When a self-diagnosis function section 34 makes a sensor signal a self-diagnostic signal at self diagnosis, the digital signal output from the digital signal output section 32 is the signal biased by the offset in a normal condition, while in an abnormal condition, the digital signal is not the signal biased by the offset but, for example, a signal of all zeros or all ones or a value significantly greater than the set offset. A sensor device can thus specify whether there is a failure or not and specify the mode of a failure, if any. |
