摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of efficiently producing a zinc oxide-based sintered compact having high density by suppressing the volatilization of zinc according to capsule hot isostatic pressure sintering.SOLUTION: The method for producing a zinc oxide-based sintered compact includes: a step in which raw material powder substantially consisting of zinc, titanium, oxygen and carbon, in which the ratio of the atomic number of the titanium to the total metal atomic number, is 0.2 to 5% is pressure-molded to obtain a molded body; a step in which the molded body is filled into a metallic vessel in such a manner that the filling ratio as the raw material powder reaches 50% or higher, and the inside of the metallic vessel is subjected to vacuum deaeration treatment; and a step in which the metallic vessel subjected to the vacuum deaeration treatment is subjected to hot isostatic pressure sintering, and the molded body is sintered, and the titanium source being titanium carbide.
