PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incremental encoder which is advantageous to measure a position of a scale by reducing distortion of an origin signal.SOLUTION: An incremental encoder 1 includes: a scale 20 having a first mark group of an incremental signal and a second mark group of an origin signal; a detection unit 30 which detects light from the scale; and a processing unit 100 which obtains a position of the scale on the basis of a detection signal outputted from the detection unit. The processing unit includes: a first generation unit 102 which generates the origin signal by adding a first weighting signal corresponding to a period of marks of the second mark group to the detection signal outputted from the detection unit; a second generation unit 104 which generates the incremental signal by adding a second weighting signal corresponding to a period of marks of the first mark group to the detection signal outputted from the detection unit; and a computation unit 106 which computes the position of the scale on the basis of the origin signal and the incremental signal. |
