PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device capable of preventing a plug member from being slipped out of an inside of the motor output shaft and avoiding a contact between the extremity end of the motor output shaft and a cover member without increasing a size of the device.SOLUTION: The valve timing control device comprises a cover member 3 fixed to a cylinder head 40 etc. and oppositely arranged at the front end of a housing 5; a cylindrical motor output shaft 13 arranged within the housing in such a way that it can be relatively rotated, rotatably driven through electrical supplying to an electric motor 12 and supplied with lubricant oil therein; and a plug body 53 press fitted into the inner peripheral surface of a small-diameter part 13b of the motor output shaft so as to prevent lubricant oil supplied into the motor output shaft from leaking outside. The surface of the cover member facing the plug body is provided with a protrusion part 55, and an extremity end 55a of the protrusion part 55 is located in the small-diameter part.
