PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeder capable of suppressing the occurrence of document damage, and the occurrence of document jam.SOLUTION: An automatic document feeder includes: a flapper member 43 as a switching unit that is arranged at a branch part of an ejection path 42 and a second ejection path 44, and is displaced in conjunction with opening/closing operation of an ejection cover 16 to switch an ejection path for a document after image reading between the ejection path 42 and the second ejection path 44; and a cover detection unit 50 that detects the opening of the ejection cover 16. The cover detection unit 50 detects the opening of the ejection cover 16 before the start of the displacement of the flapper member 43 upon the opening of the ejection cover 16. |
