The present invention relates to a system comprising a regenerative fuel cell; and at least one electrolyte storage from which electrolyte flows during operation along a membrane in the regenerative fuel cell. Determined embodiments of such systems are known as redox flow fuel cells. Electrolyte is carried herein along a membrane, preferably an ion-selective membrane, in order to convert electrical energy to chemical energy, and vice versa. According to the invention a system further comprises at least one heat exchanger in the electrolyte storage which is connected to a heat pump. The electrolyte can thus be utilized as heat buffer and a relation can be provided between heat and electricity systems, for instance in buildings, preferably in order to form a multi-energy system (MES), and to make buildings self-supporting or energy-neutral in terms of energy consumption in practically or wholly self-sufficient manner. |
