The method involves providing a pre-assembled plug connector (1) with a single-or multi-part sleeve assembly (2), at one end of a mating face (3) for mating with a corresponding mating connector. The sleeve assembly is provided with a flange (10). A screw thread (5) and a top nut (7) are screwed on mating area end of sleeve assembly. A circumferentially-closed protective sleeve (8) is attached on the plug connector, to completely or partially cover the screw thread and the plug-in face. The arrangement is completely or portion-wise recasted with a casting material. An independent claim is included for a reusable connector assembly.
