<p>Methods and compositions are provided for inactivating, e.g. killing, an antigen-specific B cell or one or more populations thereof. In the subject methods, a target B cell is contacted with an effective amount of a B cell clonal toxin, where the B cell clonal toxin comprises a first moiety, e.g. an antigen or antibody binding mimetic thereof, that causes the B cell clonal toxin to be internalized by the B cell and a biologically acceptable toxin. The subject methods and compositions find use in a variety of different applications where it is desirable to selectively suppress the immune system of a host, including in the treatment of a variety of antigen specific antibody mediated disease conditions, including viral antigen specific antibody mediated disease conditions.</p> |
