Disclosed is a multimedia terminating device for passive optical network having a CATV multi-channel receiver and an IP packetized processing unit. The present invention relates to a multimedia terminating device for passive optical network having a CATV multi-channel receiver which accommodates time division method passive optical network (PON) terminating function of 10G as well as conventional 1G and selectively receiving channels which a plurality of users wants among TV broadcasts and CATV broadcast channels using separate light waves; and an IP packetized processing unit for converting the received MPEG-TS stream into an IP packet and transmitting the IP packet. For a network formation among the member devices, a plurality of giga-Ethernet interfaces is provided. An Ethernet switching unit distributing the IP packetized video stream packet to a corresponding device from a network or making the inputted packet flow line concentration is provided. Also, the present invention has a plurality of wireless interfaces to provide multiple input multiple output (MIMO) type Wi-Fi services. By implementing PON technology which is a passive optical member network rather than a cable model control system (CMTS) to a platform for an ultrahigh speed data service, investment fee in the conventional optical cable TV network can be minimized.
