Dowel means for securing together members 3, 10, Fig. 1, comprises a dowel pin 1 fixed in a recess 2 in member 3 so as not to protrude therefrom, and a smoothly-rounded dome 11 fixed to member 10 to protrude therefrom and engageable in recess 2, dome 11 having an aperture with fingers 13 which grip the pin. Dome 11 has a flange 12 held against member 10 by a spiked ring 14, and pin 1 is engaged by teeth 6 on a part 5 having an outer edge 7 driven into the recess wall by a part 8. In a modification, pin 1, Fig. 4, has a screwed part engaging a bore in member 3. Specifications 842,566 and 847,250 are referred to.
