The present invention relates to a touch recognition device, a method to operate a touch recognition device and a terminal using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the touch recognition device may comprise: a sensing part to sense a touch input through a plurality of sensing techniques; and a controlling part to control to perform an operation corresponding to the touch input according to a function configured on the selected sensing technique by configuring a different function by the sensing technique, and selecting one among the plurality of sensing techniques when the touch input is sensed.
