A method for estimating the distribution of the positions of emitted radiation rays includes a step of obtaining the time difference of radiation rays detected by a pair of detectors; and a step of generating a probability distribution function which represents the probability of the positions of the emitted radiation rays by considering the time resolution of the pair of detectors and the time difference.
