Provided is an apparatus for collecting floating matters which is fixed to a wire connected to a crane, such as a fork crane having moving means, to collect floating matters on the sea. The apparatus for collecting floating matters comprises: a main body including a space formed therein, a retaining hook formed at one side for retaining and connecting an end portion of a wire and a pair of guide members which are disposed at the lower part and of which upper end is connected by a pin to be able to rotate; a pair of grippers which are opposed to each other and are respectively connected at the lower ends of the guide members by pins to be able to rotate, and to which the upper end is hinge-coupled in a mutually connected state to be able to rotate; an operating cylinder which is vertically connected to the main body and has a rod of which an end is connected to a hinged part of the gripper to thereby open and close the gripper while pulling the gripper upwardly or pushing the gripper downwardly; and a hydraulic pressure control part which is mounted inside the main body to control supply of hydraulic pressure of the operating cylinder according to a signal of a remote controller manipulated by a user. The apparatus for collecting floating matters can prevent environmental pollution and safety accidents of ships because the apparatus which is installed on the crane having the moving means can easily collect floating matters between the inner wall of the seaside and ships, which come alongside, on the land.
