The invention provides, in some aspects, apparatus and methods for a rotating airflow directing attachment for a barrel of a hair dryer. The attachment includes a tubular adapter (or“attachment body”) having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, wherein the inlet opening is adapted to be removably coupled to the barrel of the hair dryer. A blade is rotatably coupled to the tubular adapter, and a nozzle is disposed adjacent to the outlet opening of the tubular adapter and adapted to rotate with the blade.
