Disclosed are a multi-way chute for transferring coking coal and a method for controlling the same, which resolve problems relating to a damper plate and a power cylinder overloaded due to coking coal adhering to the inner wall of a long chute. The multi-way chute for transferring coking coal according to the present invention includes a housing; a variable chamber inside the housing to be connected to the housing by the medium of a spring to change the position toward the housing; the long chute to which coking coal is supplied from a belt conveyor; a branch chute branched from the bottom of the housing; and the damper plate of which one end is joined to the center of the neighboring branch chute to be rotated and of which the other end contacts the variable chamber when the damper plate rotates.
