A reference-mark reading method with which a plurality of reference marks printed on a circuit substrate are read in an mounting device is provided with: a step in which sequence data determining a sequence in which components are to be installed, reference-mark data determining the reference marks referred to when installing said components, and validated time period data determining a validated time period for the reference marks, are used to determine, for each of the reference marks, a timing at which the reference mark is to be read; and a step in which the reference marks required to be read are selectively read at the timings determined in the determining step. |
