<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a technology capable of executing initialization easily without stopping recording when initialization of a recording medium mounted during data recording is necessary.SOLUTION: A recording medium capable of recording data striding over a plurality of recording media includes: recording means for performing data recording by switching data recording destination to a second recording medium when, while recording data to a first recording medium, remaining capacity of the first recording medium becomes predetermined quantity or less; determination means for determining whether initialization processing of the second recording medium is necessary or not when, while recording data to the first recording medium, the second recording medium is mounted; and control means for controlling to start the initialization processing, when the initialization processing of the second recording medium is determined to be necessary, according as the remaining capacity of the first recording medium during recording reaches the predetermined capacity corresponding to the time required for the initialization processing.</p> |
