<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in visibility when performing ground color removal processing on a document including characters with higher density than a ground color or a background.SOLUTION: A multifunction peripheral 10 that reads a document to generate first image data of the document, performs color conversion processing on the first image data to generate second image data in which a background color of the document is removed, and prints an image based on the second image data, comprises: a ground color density calculating unit 34 that calculates ground color density of the document from the first image data; a color conversion table generating unit 36 that generates a first color conversion table and a second color conversion table on the basis of the ground color density; and an image processing unit 40 that separates an image represented by the first image data into a character region and a non-character region, performs color conversion by applying the first color conversion table to the character region, and performs color conversion by applying the second color conversion table to the non-character region.</p> |
