An anchor-nut comprises a spring sheetmetal body 10, Fig. 1, with depending legs 15 ending in out-turned feet 18 and enclosing a nut body 12 located by flanges 13. The body may have hoops 14 about which the legs pivot when squeezed together during insertion of the nut into a hole in a panel &c. to grip said panel between the feet and shoulders 16. In a modification, the body 10b, Fig. 8, has an opening 21 shaped as a helix as described in Specification 764,177.
