PURPOSE: A system for providing an ultra definition image from a set top box to a sub terminal and a method thereof are provided to supply an ultra definition image proper for each sub terminal by transmitting and processing the ultra definition image at a UHD(Ultra High Definition) level or higher received through the set top box. CONSTITUTION: A TV I/F unit(480) transmits a UHD image to a TV receiver. A UHD image optimizing unit(440) processes UHD image data stored in a UHD image storage unit(471) into an image optimized for a sub terminal using information stored in a product feature information storage unit(473) and a user terminal information storage unit(472) depending on a UHD image data request by the sub terminal. A near field wireless communication I/F unit(490) transmits the processed UHD image to the sub terminal through a near field wireless communication unit.
