A strip of nails or staples 1, for use in a nailing or stapling machine, is stamped from sheet metal so that at least two weak bridges 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>11</SP> connect adjacent nails &c. in spaced planes normal to the nail &c. shanks. The shanks are of dished cross-section and may be barbed.
