FIELD: transport.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostics of catalytic converters of automotive vehicles. Proposed invention consists in the following: a method for on-board diagnostics of a petrol-powered automotive vehicle catalytic converter (3) performance. The catalytic converter is installed in the vehicle exhaust system. In the vehicle exhaust system (1) at an inlet and outlet of a converter (3) respectively, two oxygen probes (5, 6) are installed, their signals are analysed, and the outlet probe (6) signal is compared with a threshold. Passive diagnostics is performed during the first period of the converter (3) lifetime, and after expiration of this period, during the last period of the converter (3) lifetime, intrusive diagnostics of the converter (3) performance is executed using two probes (5, 6) and diagnostic automata, and by the measuring converter (3) oxygen accumulation capacity.EFFECT: more precise diagnostic of the catalytic converter.3 cl, 5 dwg |
