<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of generating an image for superimposition in which characters included are visible even after conversion processing is applied.SOLUTION: A superposition unit 18 superimposes a program guide image generated by an OSD generation unit 15 onto an image based on an image signal inputted from an image decoder 14. A resolution conversion unit 19 converts the resolution of the image with the program guide image superimposed thereon by the superposition unit 18. The image converted by the resolution conversion unit 19 is displayed by a display unit 21. A CPU 25 detects the content of the conversion performed by the resolution conversion unit 19, and the OSD generation unit 15 generates a program guide image which includes characters, which have a size corresponding to the content detected by the CPU 25.</p> |
