PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece identifying method for identifying the kind of a workpiece with low rigidity.SOLUTION: A workpiece identifying method of identifying the kind of a workpiece to be identified with low rigidity includes: a step S100 of acquiring at least one local image of the workpiece to be identified; a step S200 of generating a feature image from the local image; a step S300 of collating the feature image with a plurality of reference images stored for each kind of the workpiece, to calculate correlation ratios between the reference images and the feature image, respectively; a step S800 of additionally storing the feature image as a new reference image when the maximum value of the calculated correlation ratios is lower than a set value; and a step S500 of identifying the kind of the workpiece of the reference image having the maximum correlation ratio value, as the kind of the workpiece to be identified, when the maximum value of the calculated correlation ratios is equal to or larger than the set value. |
