PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device and vehicular lighting system in which part of light-emitting elements is lit even when a voltage drops.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device concerning the embodiment includes a first circuit part that includes one light-emitting element or a plurality of light-emitting elements connected in series with one another, and a second circuit part that is connected in parallel with the first circuit part and includes the plurality of light-emitting elements connected in series with one another. The number of light-emitting elements included in the first circuit part is different from the number of light-emitting elements included in the second circuit part. A sum total of voltages with which the light-emitting elements included in the first circuit part can be held lit is lower than a minimal applied voltage specified in a product specification. A sum total of voltages with which the light-emitting elements included in the second circuit part can be held lit is higher than the minimal applied voltage specified in the product specification.
