PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device and inspection method capable of suitably inspecting the surface irregularity.SOLUTION: The inspection device 10 includes an irradiation section 11 for radiating linear inspection light L1 to a surface E1 of an inspecting object E conveyed in a conveyance direction T; and a light receiving section 12 capable of receiving the reflected light L2 of the inspection light L1 coming from the surface E1. Here, on an optical path of the reflected light L2 travelling from a reflection part E11 of the inspection light L1 on the surface E1 toward the light receiving section 12, a shielding section 21, having a shape following the outer edge of the reflected light L2 when the reflection part E11 is flat, is provided. The light receiving section 12 receives the reflected light L2 leaking from the conveyance direction T side of the shielding section 21 and from the opposite side to the conveyance direction T. |
