<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment device and an exhaust gas treatment method capable of reducing a discharge amount of mercury, by improving a mercury oxidation rate in exhaust gas generated from a combustion device of fuel including coal such as a boiler.SOLUTION: In the exhaust gas treatment device, an air preheater 4 for preheating combustion air of the combustion device by heat exchange between the exhaust gas and air from the boiler 20 for burning the fuel including the coal and a dust collector 5 having on the inside a bag filter 8 for carrying a catalyst for oxidizing the mercury, oxidizing the mercury in the exhaust gas of an outlet of the air preheater 4 and removing soot dust in the exhaust gas, are arranged in order from the upstream side of an exhaust gas flow passage. A mercury amount discharged in the atmosphere can be reduced by providing a low efficiency dust collector 21 lower in dust collection efficiency than the dust collector in the exhaust gas flow passage between the air preheater 4 and the dust collector 5. Since an amount of ash flowing in the dust collector 5 is reduced by the low efficiency dust collector 21, fan power can be reduced, and a backwash frequency of the bag filter 8 is reduced, and the service life of the bag filter 8 is lengthened.</p> |
