<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing liquid coating device of an ink jet printer that can sufficiently exhibit an effect and function of processing liquid coating, by suppressing insufficiency of a coating amount and coating unevenness or the like of processing liquid to a recording medium.SOLUTION: A processing liquid coating device is provided with speed detection means 44 for a squeeze roller, and speed detection means 46 for a coating roller. A controller 53 previously stores a line speed Na at which a processing liquid amount necessary for coating a recording medium can be supplied, and performs control to press a pressure roller 33 to the coating roller side and start conveyance of the recording medium W by recording medium conveyance means 41, when both of a line speed of the squeeze roller 29 detected by the speed detection means 44 for the squeeze roller and a line speed of the coating roller 31 detected by the speed detection means 46 for the coating roller reach the stored line speed Na.</p> |
