The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing intermittent atrial fibrillation in a human subject suspected to suffer from atrial fibrillation, comprising determining the amount of a cardiac Troponin in a sample from said subject. Further envisaged by the present invention are devices adapted to carry out the method of the present invention.
