PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal capable of reducing power consumption, and a remote conference system having the communication terminal.SOLUTION: A communication terminal 13 transmits and receives at least one of image data obtained by imaging a subject and shared screen display data, and also voice data, with one or more other communication terminals through a relay device 17. The communication terminal 13 includes: a detector unit 316 for detecting a predetermined event not necessitating image data transmission despite continuous execution of imaging; and a suspension unit 317 for, in response to the detection of the event, suspending both imaging and transmitting image data to the relay device 17. |
