IMPLEMENTATION METHOD OF VIRTUAL REFERENCE DECODER FOR SCALABLE VIDEO ENCODING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an implementation method of a virtual reference decoder for scalable video encoding.SOLUTION: One associated implementation proposes a change of H.264/AVC HRD for use for SVC. The implementation defines a constraint of HRD regarding an interoperation point of each of SVC. Special one implementation is described but the other implementations are also possible. Changes in space, time and SNR scalability are indicated. Changes for subsequent associated HRD parameters are also present. Several described implementations provide rules for HRD of SVC. At least one implementation proposes SVC-HRD rules with respect to AVC-HRD rules. The user uses the proposed SVC-HRD rules to construct SVC-HRD and tests bit streams to comply with SVC.
