PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make input of handwritten characters efficient and fast.SOLUTION: While a series of character input operations started at a first individual region in a handwritten character input area comprising a plurality of individual regions is completed and a pointer is moved to a second individual region to start next character input, character recognition on the first individual region is performed and recognized characters are displayed in the first individual region. This configuration enables fast handwritten character input by carrying out character recognition in parallel with movement of the handwritten character input among the individual regions.
