The guide roller (1) comprises a main portion made of polyamide, in which an insert made of electrically conductive material is embedded in the main portion. The insert is arranged in the form of non-woven material, granules, or grid. The electrically conductive material is a metallic material such as copper and/or copper alloy. The insert is arranged within a specific position of the main portion. The surface resistance of the insert is less than or equal to 109 ohms. An independent claim is included for a method for producing a device usable in potentially explosive atmosphere.
