PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an x-ray tube capable of improving reliability of an output window while suppressing reduction in x-ray dose that can be extracted from the output window.SOLUTION: A protective film 24 is formed at an external surface of an output window 17 that blocks an aperture 15 of a vacuum envelope 11. A film thickness of the protective film 24 at an area of the output window 17 that is outside of the aperture 15 of the vacuum envelope 11 is formed thicker than a film thickness of the protective film 24 at an area of the output window 17 that is inside of the aperture 15 of the vacuum envelope 11.
