The invention relates to a method of resolution by a network/domain, termed the original domain (A), of the telephone number of a user, termed the called party, belonging to a network/domain, termed the recipient domain (B), comprising the following steps: a) a user, termed the calling party, belonging to said original domain (A) despatches a message using said telephone number of the called party as routing identifier; b) a server of the original domain (A) in charge of routing said message, or a DNS server (RootAO), produces an interrogation key dependent on the telephone number and on a domain name, termed the penultimate domain; c) a DNS request is sent to a DNS server (RootA) associated with said penultimate domain; d) said DNS server (RootA) associated with the penultimate domain performs, by means of said interrogation key, a search in a database ENUM which is associated therewith; e) said search provides at least one record CNAME or DNAME containing a representation of a network/domain, termed the return domain; and f) a DNS request is sent to said return domain. Said method is noteworthy in that said return domain comprises said recipient domain (B), and in that said telephone number has been, prior to the despatching of said message, kept in relation to a change of network/domain of the called party. |
