METHOD FOR SPEED CONTROL IN CURVED ROAD

Disclosed is a method for speed control in a curved road comprising: a first step of calculating an entrance speed limit on a curved road when it is sensed that there is the curved road on a driving path; a second step of calculating the optimum driving speed trace which has a reduction gear ratio identical with a coast down speed trace under the present running conditions but has a reduction gear ratio to which braking power from a point before a predetermined distance from an entrance point of the curved road; a third step of entering a coast down mode and reducing speed along the optimum driving speed trace when the present speed of a vehicle is more than the optimum driving speed at the present point. The method for speed control according to the present invention reduces speed of the vehicle when the vehicle enters a curved section, can somewhat satisfy time required for arriving at a destination and fuel efficiency till the vehicle arrives at the destination, and increases usability because the user can determine to which of the required time and the fuel efficiency a weighted value is added more.
