A lacquer is applied to at least one surface 2.1, 2.2 of a pre-machined work-piece 2. The lacquered workpiece 2 undergoes machining with removal of material by means of a geometrically defined cutter, including the at least one lacquered surface region 2.1, 2.2, in which the lacquering is partially removed. Subsequently, at least one lacquered surface region 2.1, 2.2 of the work-piece 2 is super-finished. The preferred work piece has core roughness depth Rk ≤ 0.5μm and reduced peak height Rpk ≤ 0.1μm. The substrate is preferably anodised aluminium or aluminium alloy. The work-piece is used in a fit assembly comprising a matched sliding pair, preferably of cylinders 4, 5. |
