A rotary tedder having at least two rotary raking heads 19 provided with axially-extending prongs 22 which are driven from the rear power take-off 40 of a tractor 7 is characterized in that the heads are journalled on a beam 11, transverse to the direction of travel 4, and are driven in opposite directions with their prongs interengaging. The beam 61 is connected to the tractor draw-plate 6 by pivoted draught-links 5 one of which carries an upstanding sector 16 which co-operates with a lever 15 integral with the beam to adjust the inclination of the raking heads to the ground. The heads are driven by bevelgearing 30, 31, 37 from the shaft 40 and are each supported by a ground wheel 25 on an arm 26 pivoted to a block 24 below the raking- head journal. The block carries an adjusting screw 29 for varying the working height of each raking head and also a latch 28 for holding the ground-wheel in transport position. Several tedding units may be articulated in transverse alignment by links 12, the drive being passed from unit to unit by jointed shafts. |
