<p>A modular floorstanding or freestanding centrifuge comprises at least the following modules, the modules being preassembled, coherent components capable of being mounted as a whole, a floor plate 2, a wall module 3 adapted to be mounted on the floor plate (2) and including two side wall elements (30, 31, fig 2(b)) capable of being attached to opposing edge regions (20, 21, fig 1) of the floor plate 2 and a ceiling element (32, fig 2(b)) for interconnecting the side wall elements (30, 31, fig 2(b)) and a a guard ring module 4 adapted to be mounted on the wall module 3 and including a guard ring (40, fig 4(a)) attached to at least one side wall element (41, 42, fig 3) and/or a ceiling element (43, fig 3), wherein the ceiling element (43, fig 3) and the at least one side wall element (41, 42, fig 3) are joined together and the at least one side wall element (41, 42, fig 3) is mounted on the ceiling element (43, fig 3) such that it is capable of being attached to an edge region of the ceiling element (32, fig 2(b)) pertaining to the underlying wall module 3.</p> |
