The invention relates to the field of welding, and particularly to a method for supplying a welding current to work pieces, and can be used for butt welding long rail lengths with interference. In the process of welding power supply to the parts to be welded at butt welding long lengths with interference welding current is supplied from a welding transformer to the parts to be welded through current elements of the machine, namely rods of movement and upset, which are connected with mobile and fixed housings of the welding machine, electrical contact clamps and flexible jumpers. The electrical contact clamps are freed from rigid contact with the rods of movement and upset at the stage of pulling the lengthy rail length and rigidly clamped at the end of the process of pulling and reaching the required distance between the mobile and fixed housings of the welding machine. This allows to use limited length of the current-conducting jumpers and thus avoid the increase in resistance of machine welding circuit, and hence have a stable welding process and, as a result, prevent the occurrence of defective welds. |
