PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten waiting time of a user who wants to load or unload a vehicle even with a concentration of the vehicles to be loaded or unloaded without increasing a storage space of an empty pallet in a pallet carrier device which carries the empty pallet from an unloading section to a loading section.SOLUTION: A mechanical parking device 10 comprises: a loading section 20; an unloading section 22; a storage 26 to store a pallet 24 with a vehicle 12 loaded thereon or an empty pallet 24A; and a pallet carrier device 28 to carry the empty pallet 24A from the unloading section 22 to the loading section 20 without passing through the storage 26. The mechanical parking device 10 carries the empty pallet 24A: from the storage 26 to the pallet carrier device 28 through the unloading section 22 when the number of the empty pallets 24A to be stored in the pallet carrier device 28 is not more than a supplement request number; and from the pallet carrier device 28 to the storage 26 through the loading section 20 when the number of the empty pallets 24A to be stored in the pallet carrier device 28 is not less than a discharge request number.
