摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor which is assured of sufficient caulking strength even when a thin electromagnetic steel is used, and which consumes less power because of a reduced magnetic loss.SOLUTION: The spindle motor has a stator core formed by stacking two or more sheets of stator lamination 300 one on top of another. The stator lamination 300 is 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm inclusive in thickness, and has a caulking part 305. The caulking part 305 has, as viewed from an axial direction, a substantially rectangular shape whose long side extending along the radial direction, and the cross section of the caulking part 305 viewed from the circumferential direction has an intermediate portion parallel to the plane of the stator lamination 300, and an inclined portion between the intermediate portion and two short sides, the depth of a dent of the caulking part 305 being smaller than the thickness of the stator lamination 300 so that the stator lamination 300 is not cut off in the caulking part 305.
