PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel foil which is superior in oxidation resistance at high temperatures and difficult to diffusion join, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A stainless steel foil which is difficult to diffusion join has a surface roughness Ra of 0.5 to 1.5 μm, and a composition containing by mass%: 0.05% or less of C; 2.0% or less of Si; 1.0% or less of Mn; 0.05% or less of P; 0.03% or less of S; 13.0 to 30.0% of Cr; 3.0 to 10.0% of Al; 0.10% or less of N; 0.02% or less of Ti; 0.005 to 0.20% of Zr; 0.03 to 0.20% of REM (Rare Earth Metal); and the balance consisting of Fe and unavoidable impurities. The stainless steel foil which is difficult to diffusion join has front and rear surfaces on which roll polishing mark-transcribed lines are added, the lines forming an angle &thetas; of 10° to 55° with respect to a longitudinal direction of the stainless steel foil, and gradient directions of the lines on the front and rear surfaces being opposite to each other. |
