PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve readability of characters when a low-density document output in a toner-saving mode is copied.SOLUTION: A toner-saving determination part 104 determines a candidate for toner saving when a detection result of a character edge detection part 102 indicates a black edge and a dot determination part 103 determines that there are dots at a periphery of the edge, and also determines that an input image is a toner-saved image when a detection result of a density information detection part 101 for a pixel of interest indicates low density. When it is determined that the input image is the toner-saved image, a correction processing part 105 performs processing for increasing an ink amount. |
