PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collator for newspaper insert flyers that can detect the occurrence of double feeding with high accuracy without causing an excessive cost increase.SOLUTION: A collator 1 for newspaper insert flyers includes shelves 20a,.. having paper feed trays 21 with multiple stages in a lengthwise direction and collates multiple kinds of flyers into one, and sound wave sensors 22 comprising sound wave transmitters 22a and sound wave receivers 22b oppositely disposed in upper and lower sides across delivery paths of distal end sides of the paper feed trays 21 are disposed to a plurality of shelves 20, respectively. The collator also includes an electronic control unit 30 for determining the occurrence of double feeding based on signals by the sound wave sensors 22 and notifying workers by notification means. In the sound wave sensors 22 adjacently disposed and continuously in the lengthwise direction, transmission periods by the sound wave transmitters 22a are set so as not to overlap with the sound wave sensors 22 of the shelves to at least immediate vicinity of two stages, and the sound wave sensors 22 having the portions with the transmission periods overlapped to each other are disposed at the distance without the occurrence of interference to each other. |
