PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device advantageous for preventing color mixture between adjacent pixels, a manufacturing method therefor, and a camera.SOLUTION: The solid state image pickup device comprises: an optical system including a plurality of microlenses ML provided corresponding to a plurality of pixels on a first face S1 side of a substrate; and a light absorption part 30 provided corresponding to each of the plurality of pixels on a second face S2 side of the substrate. The plurality of pixels include a first kind of pixel for detecting light in a first wavelength, and a second kind of pixel for detecting light in a second wavelength shorter in wavelength than the first wavelength. The first kind of pixel is further provided with a first part 41 between the light absorption part 30 corresponding to the pixel and the substrate, and the second kind of pixel is further provided with a second part 42 between the light absorption part 30 corresponding to the pixel and the substrate, the first part 41 having a larger refractive index of light in the first wavelength than that of the second part 42. |
